La Niña, El Niño and clouds of the Tropical Eastern Pacific from a sailing yacht

This presentation will share experiences from a three-month Tropical Pacific crossing from Panama to Easter Island. The journey, documented by photographs taken on board S/Y 'Pluskata', will be discussed in the context of regional atmospheric and oceanic circulations.
Recent developments in atmospheric and oceanic flows, including the current transition from La Niña conditions in January 2026 to a (presumably Super) El Niño, will also be analyzed using actual observations and forecasts.
