The Jerzy Pniewski and Leopold Infeld Colloquium of the Faculty of Physics will be held on Monday, November the 23rd, at 4.30 pm. This time we will host two speakers from our Faculty: Prof. dr Jerzy Lewandowski and dr hab. Łukasz Wyrzykowski.
The title of their joint lecture is: The 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics The lecture will allow us to better understand the meaning of this year's Nobel Prize in Physics. The Prize was awarded to Roger Penrose “for the discovery that black hole formation is a robust prediction of the general theory of relativity" (one half) and to Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez "for the discovery of a supermassive compact object at the centre of our galaxy" (the other half).
You are welcome to join the meeting 15-30 minutes before the Colloquium to talk or chat in an informal atmosphere.
