Privacy policy

This privacy policy covers IGF’s treatment of personal information. Please review the IGF Privacy Policy to understand the options of using the IGF website. Use of this website signifies your agreement to the IGF Privacy Policy.

What personal information does IGF collect? You can visit the IGF website without identifying who you are while signing-in, or revealing personally identifiable information. If you do provide personal information when signing up for a service, IGF will not sell, trade, or give away your information.

General use information. IGF receives and stores certain types of information whenever you interact with the website. For example, IGF maintains web activity log files such as the number of pages requested, time spent on a page, and result sets from search queries. IGF extracts and aggregates information from these log files to gauge and improve the effectiveness of the website and services. IGF does not link this general use information to other personally identifiable information.

From time to time, IGF may share information with outside auditors, consultants, and others hired by the University of Warsaw to ensure compliance with the Act of 4 April 2019 on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 848, issued by the Polish Parliament). IGF informs these parties about safeguarding personal information and requires them to use it only for an authorised purpose consistent with this IGF Privacy Policy.

Cookies. Parts of the IGF website may use cookies to improve your interaction with the site or service. IGF does not use cookies for tracking purposes except when used in conjunction with a service that requires keeping track of a session, or actions and you have agreed to this when signing up to that service.

Signing in to the IGF website. The IGF requests information by signing in to the IGF website. To sign in, one voluntarily provides personal information. IGF may use this information and may share it with, for example, organisers of events such as seminars, open lectures and online classes, only in the manner described in the login process. To correct the information provided, please contact the website administrator.

Security. IGF maintains all personal data with technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect against the loss, unauthorized access, destruction, misuse, modification, and improper use. No computer system or information can be completely protected against every possible hazard, but IGF provides reasonable and appropriate controls to protect personal information against foreseeable hazards.

Public Forums and Mailing Lists. IGF maintains a public email list for use by interested individuals. It is used for the subscription to forums, mailing groups etc.; users can subscribe and unsubscribe from these areas at any time. Contact the website administrator to correct any information you submit.

Please note that any shared information is available to all persons with access to the selected area (forum, mailing group, etc.). Unsubscribing from an area will not remove names, surnames, email addresses or any other shared information from the archives.

Legal Requirements. IGF may disclose information in response to legal processes, such as a court order or subpoena.

Children’s Guidelines. Students are advised to consult with their parents before giving any personal information online.

Third-Party Sites. IGF is not responsible for the privacy practices of non-IGF websites to which the IGF website may link.
