In this seminar, I will present a theoretical and experimental study of a single nanostructured gradient index (nGRIN) microlens. We verified experimentally the focusing abilities of the microlens for various wavelengths in visible and near infrared ranges. For the considered nGRIN microlens working distances vary in a range 22.8÷25.9 µm, depending on the wavelength. The focal spot diameter changes from 1.7 to 2.9 µm, accordingly. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical predictions and confirm that the nanostructurization allows to obtain microlenses suitable for work in wide wavelength range. It is worth to notice, that investigated nGRIN microlens consisting of nanorods with diameter around 200nm preserved focusing performance even for the short wavelength at 530 nm, for which the EMT condition is only λ/2.6.
