SAtellite based Monitoring Initiative for Regional Air quality (SAMIRA)
Project leader:
dr hab. Iwona S. Stachlewska
Funding institution:
European Space Agency (ESA-ESRIN)
Realization period:
May 20, 2016 - Oct. 31, 2019
dr hab. Iwona S. Stachlewska | Project leader |
dr Horatiu-Ioan Stefanie | Principal investigator |
dr Olga Zawadzka-Mańko | Principal investigator |
prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Markowicz | Co-investigator |
Project coordinator:
Dr. Kerstin Stebel, Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU), Norway
PI at UW: Dr Iwona Stachlewska
The overall goal of SAMIRA is to improve regional and local air quality monitoring through synergetic use of data from present and upcoming satellites, traditionally used in situ air quality monitoring networks and output from chemical transport models.
