The CE318-T (CIMEL  Electronique, France) photometer performs the daytime measurements (sun/sky radiance), as well as the nighttime based on the moonlight (from 1st to the last quarter). Standardly it works at nine wavelengths: 340, 380, 440, 500, 675, 870, 937, 1020, and 1640 nm, which allows for the retrieval of the essential physico-optical parameters such as Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD), Volume Size Distribution (VSD), complex refractive index (n), or water vapor content. Collected data is automatically uploaded and processed by the AErosol RObotic NETwork (AERONET), where finished products are available (via the website) at three different quality levels. Additionally, the flexible communication and solar autonomy allow easy operation of the instrument both on fixed sites and temporary locations.
