DESCRIPTION (field, expectations, comments):

This post-doc position is offered in the framework of the project entitled “Superresolution hidden in the far-field and spatial-spectral transformations”. The project is funded by National Science Centre, Poland (NCN) and will be realized at the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Physics, Division of Information Optics. https://www.ncn.gov.pl/sites/default/files/listy-rankingowe/2017-09-15/streszczenia/392818-pl.pdf

The employment will start on 1 October 2018, and the position is offered for 24 months.

The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 109 of Higher Education Law dated 27.07.2005. (uniform text: Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2017, item 2183 with further amendments). Additionally, the candidates have to fulfil the requirements specified by NCN for a person on the post-doc position in Opus-14 projects https://ncn.gov.pl/sites/default/files/pliki/5_koszty_OPUS_PRELUDIUM_14.pdf in particular relating limitations in combining employments and the 7 year period after receiving the PhD, with exceptions.

The Post-doc will participate in all project tasks during the full 24 month period of the project, and will closely collaborate with other group members. He/she will work on programming and setting the optical set-ups and data acquisition equipment, on testing image reconstruction and sampling algorithms,  as well as on electromagnetic modelling, and on the preparation of publications.

The requirements:

The candidate is required 1) to have a PhD in physics with the specialization in optics or similar, 2) to have experience in the domain of the project (compressive sensing, nanooptics, modeling of the optical properties of nanostructures, effective medium theory) confirmed with publications and possibly to have at least one year of experience in research after the PhD, 3) to have a good knowledge of programming in Matlab and C++, 4) to have experience in working with optical set-ups and with microscopic techniques, 5) good knowledge of English, 6) the ability to work within a group.
