The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018 (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2023, item 742 with subsequent amendments).

We seek a candidate for an adjunct professor position to join the Institute of Geophysics, Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw.

We expect that the candidate will offer a research program in the field of geophysics in accordance with research agendas of at least one of geophysical research groups at the Institute. Duties of the successful candidate will include 210 hours (per academic year) of teaching at the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw.

Scientific, teaching and organizational activities of the employee will be a subject of regular periodic evaluation.

The initial tenure-track appointment is for 30 months  with possible indefinite extension after a positive evaluation.

The contract shall begin on Oct 1^st 2024.

Necessary requirements are:

1. doctorate (PhD) in science or engineering or Earth sciences (conditionally a perspective of receiving a degree before the end of August 2024),
2. documented, by participation in projects, experience in science,
3. documented teaching experience;
4. international experience (preferred internship abroad, required visible activity on an international scale).

In addition, we expect:

1. documented record of scientific publications and achievements valuable for one of the research groups at the Institute of Geophysics,
2. research plans accounting for research group agenda.
