We would like to congratulate the researchers from our Institute who have been recognized this year by the Rector of the UW for their scientific achievements, especially for their activities involving inspiring scientific research and innovative development work, contributing to the development of the University of Warsaw and upholding the best traditions of our University.

Candidates for the Rector's teaching awards and distinctions are proposed annually through a competition by deans and heads of organizational units. The lists of candidates are then reviewed by a university-wide committee.

The largest number of award recipients this year work at the Faculty of Physics. Of the sixteen award winners, almost 25% are from the Institute of Geophysics, and they are: dr hab. Iwona Stachlewska, prof. ucz., prof. dr hab. Ryszard Buczyński, and dr hab. Rafał Kasztelanic.
