Vision defect in school-age children may cause blurry distance or near vision, discomfort while reading, headaches, eye pain, and other problems that hinder learning and development. In this work, I analyze in detail the data collected on the basis of my own research on the parameters of the visual system of children aged 8-12, which include: monocular distance acuity, binocular distance acuity, and comparing it with binocular acuity with additional lenses +1.00 diopters on both eyes (hyperopia test), binocular near acuity, eye movements and near convergence point.
Additionally, I collected data on the visual behavior of the examined children - from the point of view of the children and their parents, thanks to which I was able to analyze abnormalities in the children's visual system and their impact on academic results. The measure of academic performance was the average grade from the previous school year.
Finally, I compared the data I collected with the results published in scientific articles on similar topics.
