The correlation between visual and posture parameters of parents and their children in grades 1-3Jacek PniewskiWydział Fizyki2024 |
The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the visual parameters and body posture of parents and their children in grades I-III. At the beginning of the study, the following main research hypothesis was adopted: There are dependencies between the visual parameters and body posture parameters between parents and their children. The research problem was to determine which parameters are related and to what extent.
The study was conducted on 22 individuals (11 parent-child pairs). Each person underwent an optometric examination at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw and a body posture examination using the Diers formetric III 4D device at the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw. The paper discusses concepts related to body posture and visual parameters.
The study confirmed the research hypothesis. A correlation was found between trunk inclination and the break in fusion in the BI direction for distance vision. A relationship was identified between the degree of astigmatism and pelvic tilt, as well as surface rotation, in the group of parents and children. Individuals with myopia exhibited greater trunk inclination and a larger kyphosis angle than those without myopia.
