Farnsworth-Munsell 100- Hue test is used in examination of colour discrimination. It consists of 93 colour caps, which together create the entire colour circle. The uses of F-M 100-Hue test are: diagnosis colour vision anomalies, following the progression of some diseases, monitoring the effects of drugs on nervous system. Farnsworth-Munsell 100-Hue test should be provided in intense illumination C or D65. During the examination, the person performing the test ought to show the anchor caps in each case, and then ask the patient for arranging others caps in order according to the colour. Results of the test should be recorded on a special data sheet and then a pattern of error distribution ought to be drawn. A good way to determine severity of colour vision defect, orientation of the axis and degree of bipolarity is application Fourier analysis of the error scores for the individual caps. The statistically determined total test scores and patterns of error distribution for typical colour vision anomalies could be helpful in diagnosis.
