prof. dr hab. Marek Grad

Lecture, May 14, 2018

Lazarski University

Deep Earth is not available for our direct investigation. The depth reach by deepest borehole is about 12 km only – not much compared to 6371 km of the Earth’s radius. The effective tools in the Earth’s interior recognition will be presented by Marek Grad, Phd. Marek Grad, Phd. His scientific activity includes investigations of the crust and mantle using explosion sources, natural earthquakes and ambient noise. He participated in number of deep seismic sounding experiments in Poland, Finland, West Antarctica and Spitsbergen (experiments SVEKA, FENNIA, EUROBRIDGE). Member of the organising committee and co-ordinator in large seismic experiments POLONAISE’97, CELEBRATION 2000, ALP 2002, SUDETES 2003, and passive seismic experiments TOR, PASSEQ 2006-2008 and 13 BB-STAR. Author of the first digital Moho map for the European Plate. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
