Gases and liquids are classified as fluids. In the fluid dynamics laboratory measurements of airflow in conditions similar to those found in real clouds are carried out. Laser lighting techniques, flow imaging, and image analysis methods are used to understand the interactions between cloud droplets and atmospheric turbulence in millimetre, centimetre and meter scales.
