The chamber is used to study the hygroscopic growth of particles. The device consists of two measuring paths, the first in which the aerosol is dried and the second in which the relative humidity of the air can be precisely controlled.

Two Aurora 3000/4000 nephelometers can be connected to the chamber as standard, and any instrument for measuring the optical and microphysical properties of the aerosol can also be installed. The chamber is controlled either via a special panel or completely remotely. Measurements with the chamber are not carried out continuously, but only during meteorological conditions of interest.
